I want to program something! I've been going deep into GameMaker's functions for about 5 years now. I get so far into making a game and I get frustrated and stop. Not because I've given up on the game, but because my resources become so limited.
I've posted similar threads like this on video game forums, and I tend to get the same thing. Some kind of Mario platformer or an over-the-top RPG game.
Anyway, I'm going to try it out here! There is likely quite a few pixel-artists who would like to do something.
Required points
*I'm going to stick with GameMaker 8pro for this. I know XNA/C# but I know alot more tricks with GameMaker. I'm not going to use RPGmaker.
*keep it 2D, as 3D (or even 2.5D) can cause lagging very quickly
*fangames of other games are... okay. I'm more open to fangames of anime series. I would rather go for something original. If you want a Mario-type game with some modifications and with your own characters and such, that's fine.
*any form of online component shouldn't be required to fully play the game. Any should be just an extra for something.
*"length of development" is proportional to "complexity of game". Like an anime puzzle fighter would be quick, while a RPG (no matter the length of gameplay) would take a LONG time to complete.
*this is meant for further learning and not for profit.
*besides sprites, I would also need tilesets and backgrounds. Sounds and music also, but I don't seem to have much trouble find those.
If anyone is interested, reply with a little bit of your idea. A sample of sprite-work would be great too.
